⚠️ ATTENTION: Read the following safety and warning instructions carefully before using the MagicTrap. Failure to follow these instructions and information may result in fire, electric shock, or other personal injury or damage to the MagicTrap or other property.

Intended use. The MagicTrap is a digital yellow water or insect trap. To fulfil its purpose, the MagicTrap camera module should only be placed over the trap body. Attachment using the rails on the cover grill will enable correct camera alignment. This ensures that only the interior of the trap is photographed in the ideal position. The MagicTrap camera module should not be used to photograph other objects or people, as this does not fulfil the intended purpose of this device.

Storage. In order to avoid damage to the product, the MagicTrap should not be stored permanently or for extended periods of time at temperatures below zero or above 30 degrees Celsius. Long-term exposure to vibration or oscillation may cause irreversible damage to the product. Appropriate storage is recommended. Storage at room temperature in a dry environment is ideal so as not to damage the battery and other components.

Handling and use. Treat your MagicTrap with due care. The housing is made of plastic and there are sensitive electronic components inside. Do not puncture or break the device or battery, expose the MagicTrap or battery to open flames or liquids, or drop the device. If damage is suspected, stop using the MagicTrap as this may cause overheating or injury. Do not use the device if the solar panel on the camera module is cracked as this may cause injury. Cracks, breaks and sharp edges on the plastic housing can also lead to injuries.

Assembly and installation. When assembling, only use the components included to avoid damaging the MagicTrap. The use of additional components such as screws or nails can cause or contribute to damage. Once the MagicTrap has been installed, make sure that the camera module is not used permanently or for long periods of time in temperatures below freezing or above 30 degrees Celsius. Storing MagicTrap indoors during periods of extreme weather is recommended to avoid irreversible damage.

Always ensure that you remove the device from the field before applying any crop protection products to avoid contamination. Follow the pesticide manufacturer's instructions and ensure safety guidance is adhered to before reinstalling MagicTrap in the field.

Maintenance. When maintaining the trap, cleaning or refilling the water, pay particular attention to the camera module. To avoid damage, do not place your MagicTrap on the ground. For safe storage during maintenance you can use the hook provided on the holder. Make sure that the camera module does not come into contact with water permanently or for a long period of time. Always make sure that you wear gloves when carrying out maintenance work on your MagicTrap and do not come into direct contact with the device to prevent possible exposure to chemical pesticide residues. If necessary, clean the device with a damp cloth during maintenance.

Avoiding incorrect operation. To ensure safe and responsible use of the MagicTrap, read the QuickStart Guide carefully before use. For further instruction, or specific usage situations, refer to the detailed operating instructions which you can find on our website support.magicscout.app.
Repair. Under no circumstances try to open the MagicTrap and repair it yourself. Dismantling the device can lead to irreversible damage or injuries. Always contact Bayer directly if the MagicTrap is damaged or malfunctions. Repairs that are not carried out by Bayer may involve the use of non-original parts and could have a negative impact on the safety and proper functioning of the device. Further information about repairs and service can be found on the website at support.magicscout.app .

Battery. Do not attempt to replace the battery in the MagicTrap camera module yourself. The lithium-ion battery in the device must be replaced by a Bayer qualified specialist. Improper replacement or repair can damage the battery and lead to malfunction, overheating or injury. The MagicTrap camera module cannot be disposed of with household waste, but only through special collection and return systems or in accordance with local regulations. For more information about the returns system and recycling, please visit the website at support.magicscout.app .

Load. The MagicTrap camera module includes a solar cell which supplies the device with energy during operation. Place the MagicTrap in your field with the solar panel facing upwards and ensure that no shadows will be cast over the chosen location. It is advisable to fully charge the device before use to be ready for operation in the field as quickly as possible. Only use the included USB-A to USB-C charging cable and ensure that the process is only carried out in dry, well-ventilated indoor areas that meet the recommended storage conditions. Make sure the USB plug is firmly located in the designated socket.

Radio frequencies. The MagicTrap uses radio signals to connect to a wireless network (WLAN). These are in accordance with Directive 2014/53/EU and the Radio Equipment Regulations 2017. Further information can be found in the Technical Notes under "Declaration of Conformity for the United Kingdom".

Explosive environment. Do not charge or use the MagicTrap in areas with explosive air mixtures, for example in rooms where the air contains a high concentration of flammable chemicals, vapors or particles (grain dust, dust, metallic powders, etc.). Operating the MagicTrap in environments containing high concentrations of industrial chemicals (including liquefied gases such as helium near vaporization temperature, and/or pesticides) may result in damage to the device and impairment of MagicTrap functionality. Follow all signs, warnings and instructions of any product used in the vicinity of MagicTrap.

Danger of choking. Certain MagicTrap parts may pose a choking hazard to infants and young children. Keep these accessories, such as the cover and screws, away from infants and small children.
